Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data techlead.fit collects, why, how long we keep it, who helps us process it, and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email jk@techlead.fit.

Who we are

techlead.fit is run by Jevgenijs Karelins, Ripperdapark 37D, 2021 KE Haarlem, the Netherlands. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact for anything privacy-related: jk@techlead.fit.

What we collect and why

Startup Check

When you run the free Startup Check we collect your name, email address and time zone, the answers you type, and, if you tick the box, your consent to receive our guides. We use this to analyse your answers, prepare your report and send it to you by email. Your answers are analysed with AI to generate tips and your score. Legal basis: performing the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The weekly guides are sent only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Calls, emails and messages

When you book a call, email us or message us (for example on WhatsApp or LinkedIn), we use your contact details and what you tell us to reply, prepare the call and, if we work together, to deliver and invoice the work. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract and performing it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and keeping business records as the law requires (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Business outreach

We sometimes email companies and investors about our services or projects, using business contact details that the company or firm publishes itself, for example on its own website. We keep the company name, the published contact details and a record of the emails. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering relevant services to businesses (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Every such email says who we are and how to stop them: reply "unsubscribe" and we will not write again.

Website statistics

Our websites use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people find us. It uses cookies and collects technical data such as your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you view.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers, each only for its part of the work:

• Vercel: hosting of our websites.
• Amazon Web Services (Frankfurt, Germany): our servers and database.
• OpenAI: analysis of Startup Check answers.
• Google: email (Google Workspace) and website statistics (Google Analytics).
• Cal.com: booking calls.
• Tally: feedback forms.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

• Startup Check answers and reports: up to 24 months after your check, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Call, email and project records: as long as needed for the conversation or the work; invoices and accounting records for 7 years, as Dutch law requires.
• Outreach records: up to 24 months after our last email.
• Unsubscribe requests: kept, so we can make sure we never write to you again.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and you can object to our use of it, including any marketing. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email jk@techlead.fit and we will reply within one month.

If you think we handle your data incorrectly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or the authority in the country where you live.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that secure their systems to industry standards. Access is limited to the people who need it for the work.

Changes

We may update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
